OUR RIGOROUS QUALITY CONTROL PROCESS
The journey of Ace Golf Balls products begins in over 200 golf courses around the United States. Here, teams under contract to Ace Golf Balls scour the fairways, bunkers, and water hazards of the course to retrieve lost golf balls. The balls are then cleaned. At the rate of 40,000 balls an hour, industrial washing machines wash the dirt off the balls, after which they are dried off by powerful dryers. The balls are then soaked overnight in a specially developed solution, to remove stubborn vestiges of dirt and to restore their luster. The balls are then palletised and shipped to our distrubution unit in Wiltshire.
Once the balls arrive at our warehouse, thousands of golf balls cascade into giant holding bins. At this stage, the inventory is far from ready for the market – with balls of various brands, grades, and colors jostling each other in enormous heaps.
Sorting and grading, the next process steps after cleaning, demand the most skills from Ace Golf Balls employees. Experienced graders, sitting at huge sorting tables under white lights, manually place the balls into different bins based on grades, brands, and types of balls.
Rather than trying and baffle our customers like some other retailers with complicated grading systems like AAAA/AAA or 'Pearl 1', we at Ace only deal in the top two grades of used golf balls; Pearl & Grade 'A'.

These balls have both the appearance and feel of a ball that has been hit only once! They are our best quality balls and as such are very hard to tell from new.
Some balls may display a logo and/or a small player's ink mark. There are no X-outs, scuffs, cuts, peelers, bubbles, or practice balls - that's guaranteed! |
GRADE 'A':

These are excellent condition balls that just miss our pearl grade. They may contain minor marks, small scratches/scuffs or some minor discolouration but on the whole will be in excellent condition. These balls represent great value for money and are our No.1 seller. You will not be dissapointed with this grade. |
IMPORTANT NOTE :
We do not, and will not sell refurbished golf balls. Refurbished golf balls involve one or more of the following steps; stripping/painting/stamping and/or clear coating. Generally speaking this means taking off the factory clear coat and/or paint and using less than factory quality coatings to recoat the balls. By doing this there is no way of knowing how old the 'original' ball is. Under the new coating could be a ball that 10 years old. Acushnet (owners of Titleist™) assert that “the refurbishing process produces a golf ball that bears no resemblance to a genuine Acushnet product in performance, quality or appearance” and that the refurbishing process so alters the basic composition of Acushnet's golf balls that "it would be a misnomer to call the article by its original name.”
