Revamped four-piece design maintains lower driver spin while increasing control into the green. The new version of Titleist’s iconic Pro V1 offer more distance, softer feel and enhanced durability than before. There are many benefits to the new models, but a very obvious one is that they are more durable. An improved urethane elastomer cover with a sun-blocking material means the balls stay whiter for longer, and resist fading or browning if the covers get scuffed or scratched. A new process which applies paint more thinly and uniformly, without sacrificing durability, has also enhanced the aerodynamics of the dimples. The four-piece Pro V1x features an inner and outer core under an ionomer casing layer and 328-dimple cast urethane cover. It is designed for golfers who want even less spin off the tee than the Pro V1. In the same week that Scott won, Luke Donald used a prototype version of the 2013 Pro V1x to win the Dunlop Phoenix in Japan. Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Webb Simpson and Zach Johnson have also switched to the new Pro V1x.
